5 for Wednesday #1
I’m joining with For the Love of Food in her 5 for Wednesday meme… enjoy!
1. Do you like to share your recipes? If yes, share one.
this is an entire blog about sharing them! Just pick one.. or two… or ten!
2. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
chocolate… you can use it in just about anything, and it’s good for you! Well, above 62% cacao anyway…
3. Do you like a porridge for breakfast?
I like cream of wheat, and occasionally apple cinnamon oatmeal, but in general not really. It’s got to have other stuff in it to make it tasty. And that cream of wheat? It’s made with butter, brown sugar and preserves or applesauce added in. Yum!
4. What’s your favorite restaurant? What kind is it?
Oooh, that’s a tough one. I decided to break local fav’s down by ethnicity… and by local, I mean Western Washington.
- Cafe India in Lynnwood for close to home Indian, but Chutney’s Bistro in Wallingford (Seattle) is the best around.
- Thai it would be Zab in Everett
- Southwestern is On The Border (I lived on their fajitas while I was pregnant!)
- Steak is totally Ipanema - Brazillian steakhouse in Seattle. Oh yeah…
- fast food mex - Baja Fresh for fish tacos, Taco Del Mar for burritos (and the people here in Arlington are so nice!)
- subs -Jersey Mike’s all the way. LOVE the pickles!
- Greek - fast food, Kafe Neo in Marysville - sit down, Kostas in Mukilteo (Get the flaming cheese)
- pizza with the kids - Boston’s Gourmet Pizza or Pizza Factory ’cause they’re the best close to home.
- BBQ - Famous Dave’s (don’t tell, but it’s the mustard sauce that clenched it)
- fish - sit down, Elliott’s in Seattle, fish-n-chips, Ivars Mukilteo Landing walk up (but it’s the only Ivar’s fast food that I’ll go to) the inside is pretty good too, if you’re up this way.
- chowder - Pike Place Chowder - they always have 6-8 kinds to choose from, so there is something for everyone.
- Breakfast - TOP 3 - Calico Cupboard (Mt. Vernon), The Oak Table (Sequim, WA) Patty’s Eggnest (Mukilteo, WA)
- all around day trip food - Pike Place Market in Seattle - $40 and 3 hours I can fill both our bellies with food to spare (and the exercise walking between food is gratis - but it means you CAN get the cookie… or donut… or cake…)
- really, this list could go on and on and on… I just like food!
5. Do you eat from the container?
Eeeew!
